About Us

The Jackson Hill Neighborhood Association (JHNA) exists to strengthen neighbor relationships, support youth engagement, and cultivate a spirit of collaboration through events, outreach, and one-on-one community connections

"Rooted in History. Growing Together."

JHNA was born out of the larger neighborhood organizing efforts that once grouped local associations by school zones. Originally shaped through the Nelson Neighborhood Association, Jackson Hill became its own identity as neighbors from across the area—including from Angel and Nelson—came together to form a board and host meetings in their own community. Mrs. Billie Joy Thomas, our current president, stepped into leadership after moving into the area in 1993, bringing deep dedication and generational insight.

Over the years, the neighborhood has changed significantly, with older generations passing the torch to new leaders. But the spirit of unity remains—grounded in local pride, history, and the commitment of residents to keep Jackson Hill a strong and welcoming place for all.

Community Services

We host National Night Out, Dumpster Day, and occasional family-friendly pop-ups throughout the year. Such as Organizations and Services that support residents of Jackson Hill year around. These include food, safety, utility services, and more.

Community Growth

Several new homes are being built in Jackson Hill through city redevelopment efforts.

Adopt-a-Lot Program

Help beautify the neighborhood! Through this city-led program, residents or volunteers can "adopt" vacant lots for cleanup and upkeep. Some lots are now being sold and developed.

Neighborhood Involvement

JHNA continues to partner with local churches and groups on community-driven events.
